The brief
To design and build a secure, responsive laser-tripwire intrusion detection system using microcontrollers, laser diodes, and photodetectors, providing instant audio/visual alerts when the perimeter is breached.
The approach
Configured hardware interrupts on the MCU to handle microsecond photoresistor state changes. Engineered custom debouncing circuits to prevent false triggers, and constructed a compact, 3D-printable housing for aligned emitter/receiver modules.
The outcome
Successfully built and demonstrated a functional hardware prototype, documented in a comprehensive walkthrough video showcasing trigger calibration and alarm state resets.
